Indians 4, Browns 0 (1-0)
Bob Feller got it done for the home crowd in the Indians season opener with an impressive two hit shutout over the Browns. Up to the task, Feller pitched in front of a crowd of over 73 thousand fans, the largest opening day crowd ever. Feller finished the game with just two walks and he struck out three in the contest.
Thurman Tucker didn’t waste much time and he led of the Indians in the first with a walk. A stolen base and a Lou Boudreau single later and the Indians had all they’d need for the win. Jim Hegan was the hitting star though. He singled twice, belted a two run homer and he drove in three of the Indians four runs.
