Indians Even ALCS After Extra Inning Offensive Onslaught

by @ 2:03 pm. Filed under 2007 Indians

The Indians offense got, then cold, then red hot as they scored seven runs in the top of the eleventh inning to even up their seven game series with the Red Sox at a game a piece.  Trot Nixon drove home the first and winning run but the inning was capped off with a three run shot by Franklin Guiterrez.  Grady Sizemore and Jhonny Peralta also went yard and Peralta had four RBIs while Sizemore scored three times.  Casey Blake made some nice plays in the field but he struggled at the plate and went zero for six with four strikeouts.

Fausto Carmona was tagged for four runs in just four innings and Rafael Perez was nailed for two runs in just 1/3 of an inning.  Rafael Betancourt was phenomonal with 2 1/3 shutout innings and Tom Mastny and Joe Borowski closed out the game with a shutout inning a piece.

There’s a day off today and then tomorrow it’ll be Jake Westbrook going up against Daisuke Matsuzaka.  The winner gets the lead in the series again.
