Indians 4, Red Sox 1 (9-4)
Bob Feller held the Red Sox to just one run as he pitched into the tenth inning to lead the Indians to their third straight game. He gave up eight hits and three walks with four strikeouts in 9 1/3 innings.
Ken Keltner had a huge day at the plate. He went three for four with two solo homers. Lou Boudreau went three for five with a double and an RBI.

This game started out on a discouraging note as Indians’ starter Russ Christopher was knocked around for three runs in the first inning. He didn’t even pitch out of it but after that, the Indians piled on the offense to win their fourth straight game. Ken Keltner and Larry Doby both went yard in the contest and Dale Mitchell went two for four with two runs and an RBI.
Ed Klieman picked up the win for the Indians. He gave up just one hit in 2 1/3 innings of relief.
