Kenny Lofton Drives In Four In Indians Game One Route Over Yankees

by @ 2:07 am. Filed under 2007 Indians

It’s funny that everyone in the main stream media are looking to the Indians as underdogs, just like last year, the Tigers were the underdog.  People should be changing their view now after the Indians dismantled nineteen game winner Chien-Ming Wang in a game that saw four Indians homers, fourteen hits and twelve runs.

Kenny Lofton didn’t go yard, but he had an impressive game none the less.   He went three for four with four RBIs, a run and a stolen base.  Asdrubal Cabrera, Victor Martinez, Travis Hafner and Ryan Garko all went yard in the game and Garko had a team high three runs.

C.C. Sabathia really worked for five innings and he had his share of jams but he picked up the win thanks to some solid pitching and the explosive offense.  He gave up three runs on four hits and six walks with five strikeouts in five innings.  Rafael Perez struck out four in two shutout innings and both Jensen Lewis and Rafael Betancourt threw a scoreless inning each to close out the game.

Today’s game kicks off just after 5 pm.  It’ll be Andy Pettitte against Fausto Carmona.  It sure would be nice to head to Yankee Stadium with two wins under out belt.
