Loss Leaves Indians with Split in Series

by @ 9:40 pm. Filed under 2008 Indians

The Indians lost the final game of the series against Texas on Thursday night. Like all the other games in the series, it was a battle of offenses. The Indians fired out of the gate, scoring four runs in the first inning against Kevin Milwood. After that first inning, Millwood and his supporting staff were lights out, allowing the Rangers to score nine unanswered runs. The Indians travel to D-town to face off with the struggling Tigers, who have won only three of their last ten games. The pitching match-up for Friday’s game places Paul Byrd on the mound against Justin Verlander.  Verlander is tied for the most losses in the majors with eight, but has the same amount of wins as Byrd. Game time is at 7:05 pm and I would anticipate a battle of the bats.
